Even for someone without a car this hotel was good. A walk to The Meetings or the other way to Ballykissangel very pleasant.

Access to public transport bad, however the owner very kindly took me to the station .

I highly recommend this B&B. My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Old Coach House. The owners, Mitch and Barbara went out of their way to make us feel at home. They gave wonderful advice on places to see while in Ireland, especially Wicklow. I was expecting a package to arrive by mail during my stay, but as luck would have it, it arrived after we left Wicklow. Mitch and Barbara held the package for me for several days and when my friend and I returned to the B&B to retrieve the package, we were greeted as old friends, spending the evening on the back porch drinking wine and chatting with Mitch and Barbara. My friend and I can't say enough about this B&B - it's in a wonderful location, in a stunningly beautiful county, run by an amazing family.

The mattress was a bit lumpy - but not enough that it prevented me from getting a good nights sleep.

We enjoyed excellent service and our extremely welcoming hosts made us feel very much at home. The freshly cooked breakfasts were delicious and there was helpful and knowledgeable advice about the local area we were visiting from Mick and Barbara.

Very comfortable, lovely scenery, staff [owner] couldn,t do enough to make sure you were happy.

Tea tray in room was dusty, obviously unused for a while.

I thought it was very well located in the heart of Wicklow. The owners were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was excellent. The room was small but it was clean and comfortable and whilst the bathroom was tiny, it was ensuite.

A little creaky - a little old - but I suppose that can be termed as charm!

The breakfast was fantastic, the owner were extremely nice and helpful

The room & the bed was too small, the tv kept going off.

Good hospitality offered in an impeccably clean and comfortable guest house. The location is so beautiful and tranquil, and only a short walk from the local pub. The excellent breakfast sets you up nicely for the day ahead. Many thanks to Mick and Barbara for our lovely 2 night break.

The couple who run this hotel were fantastic hosts and went out of their way to make us feel welcome and enjoy our stay.

Whilst the rooms were comfortable in terms of space and decor the beds/mattresses were not! The shower also let the room down, certainly no power shower!

Owner very gracious and helpful. Breakfast was very good and owner was accomodating to our early schedule.

It was very far from the motorway and confusing to find due to roundabouts in villages that we needed to go through to get there.

Very personal place with great character. Staff were very friendly and always willing to help. Breakfast was decent and plenty of it.

Shower was terrible and due to the position of our room (no2 - right above the reception and beside the stairs), it was quite noisy with new visitors and people coming up and down stairs. Also, walls are very thin. Could hear our neighbours talking at night...and thank god that's all they were doing!

We stayed only one night at the old coach house but we thoroughly enjoyed it. The location ( meeting of the waters) , the hostess, character of the house all blend to make a lovely place to stay and hopefully revisit.

The Old Coach House has a special charm and ambience that is welcoming, calming and uplifting. The location is of course superb: two minutes' walk from the Meeting of the Waters in the peaceful, beautiful, inspirational Vale of Avoca. The decor is country house eclectic and is a credit to the individual taste of the superb owners/hosts Barbara and Mick - wood everywhere: on the floorboards, in period piece dressers, wardrobes, bookcases. If the scenery outside weren't so inviting you'd travel a long way just to sit in one of the leather Chesterfields in the drawing room and read, chat and enjoy the peace and quiet. The bedrooms are spacious and very comfortable - we were in a party that occupied five of the nine rooms and everyone was more than happy (bar the usual minor gripes from the kids about water pressure/showers). Breakfast in the large dining room was perfect - a good choice and a full Irish grilled to retain its taste and set us up for the day. A special word for Barbara, whose natural hospitality strikes just the right tone - helpful and empathetic but never obtrusive. Final word: we'll be going back to Wicklow at the first opportunity, and we'll be staying at the Old Coach House. Marvellous.
